Can I bring my children?
Sorry, but we cannot accommodate children under the age of 10. The cottage’s historic features mean it is not suitable for young children.
Do you take dogs?
One well-behaved dog is welcome by prior arrangement for a charge of £25 per week. If you are planning to bring your dog with you, please tell us when you book. We also ask that you and your dog abide by our common-sense house rules. Take a look at our dedicated dog-friendly page.
Is the property wheelchair accessible?
Due to the historic nature of the building, unfortunately the property is not wheelchair accessible. The master suite is located on the ground floor, but there is a step down to reach it from the main part of the house where the living room, shower room and kitchen are located. Similarly, there are two steps down from the kitchen to the dining room.
Do you allow smoking?
No smoking is permitted in the house or on the premises, including the smoking of e-cigarettes.
What time can we arrive?
Arrival is from 4pm on the arrival date.
What time do we need to depart?
We ask you to vacate by 10am on the day of your departure to give us time to prepare the cottage for our next guests.
What’s your cancellation policy?
The deposit paid at time of booking is non-refundable. If you cancel your booking more than 8 weeks prior to the let, we will refund the total paid less the deposit. If you cancel your booking within 8 weeks of the let and after payment of the full rental charge, we cannot guarantee a refund. However, we will issue a refund (less the deposit) if we re-let the property during the period of your booking.
How do I make a booking?
If you would like to make a booking, please visit the Book Now page to check availability and contact us at balveniecottage@outlook.com. A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at time of booking to secure the dates. The balance, together with a refundable £200 good housekeeping deposit, is payable 8 weeks before the start of the let (or at the time of booking if it is within 8 weeks of arrival).
What’s the small print?
We hate small print, but sometimes you need to know the details. If you want to know more, you can view our full terms and conditions here.
